The campsite at Stratford Racecourse is totally different to the inaugural show at Whilton Mill. Whereas
previously we had the Camping Meadow, this time around I'm sorry to say it won't be half as scenic.
On the plus side, you'll now not have the M1 motorway constantly buzzing in your ears all night! The
popular "quite camping area" at AO`13 will hopefully be exactly that - QUIET!!!
Also, featuring grass areas throughout, the campsite will now be a lot nearer the actual showground
area, this can't be a bad thing? Clubs for instance can actually pitch their tents immediately behind the
Club Display Stands, thus keeping all the members from wandering too far from the communal
barbeque.
As for the party animals amongst you, the Club Camping Area will be a hive of activity until the early
hours. Regarding the constant problem of generators, providing that within your allocated area you are
not disturbing your neighbours, then party away!
You know what it’s like, you’ve run out of milk, bread, etc., and need to nip down to the local shops.
Well now the corner shop has come to you.
Near the Event Office will be a Convenience Store, a ‘shop on wheels’ if you like, selling all manner of
groceries, basic camping accessories and consumables (i.e. aerosol-size gas canisters for camping
stoves). They even have a fridge full of beer & wine, which is we feel extremely convenient!
No fixed opening times as such, although the intention is to be open throughout the show, both during
the day and into the evening.
Great news …
To allow clubs and groups to book ‘en masse’ at sensible rates for ADVENTURE OVERLAND, a Club/Group
Discount Scheme has been introduced for the show.
Call it a ‘Late Summer Camping Weekend’ or even a ‘Club Rally’ if you like. The fact is, in Stratford
Racecourse we have hired a prestigious, centrally-located venue with excellent facilities. The grass
campsite is massive, meaning that all the members can camp together, plus you just happen to
have the bonus of a major bike/4x4 event directly alongside to visit over the weekend … and all at
down-to-earth prices!!!
NOTE: The latest date for booking this scheme is 1st September 2013. All clubs and groups are eligible
for this scheme whether they have booked a Club Display Stand at AO`13 or not. This is a separate
‘stand alone scheme’ so can’t be run in conjunction with any other promotion or advance-booking
discount scheme. Even for a single adult, this scheme still works out cheaper than the standard rate!
